Reggie C. Giffin

The law firm of Reggie C. Reggie C. Giffin is the founder of his firm. He has used his extensive experience with securities law and the securities industry to build a practice that is uniquely capable to help individuals with losses in their stock, bond, mutual fund or annuity transactions.

Mr. Giffin graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Law School in 1968, with high academic honors. He was a member of the Bench and Robe Society (similar to Phi Beta Kappa) and Editor in Chief of the UMKC Law Review. While in law school he clerked for the Presiding Judge of the Circuit Court for the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit where he had the opportunity to observe and learn from experienced trial judges and lawyers. Upon graduation he clerked for Judge Elmo Hunter of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, one of the most respected and highly regarded federal judges in the entire country. While with Judge Hunter he observed and learned from some of the best trial lawyers in the Midwest.

He then joined Rogers, Field and Gentry, one of the premier trial law firms in the Midwest, where he was a partner for eleven years. He tried a wide variety of cases to judges and juries. He then joined Morrison & Hecker, a large multi-state full service firm, where he was a partner for 21 years. While at Morrison & Hecker he handled or supervised several complex securities and business cases. He left Morrison & Hecker to form Reggie C. Giffin, P.C. to provide high quality legal representation to individual investors, brokers, securities professionals, securities firms and businesses without the high over-head and fees associated with large firms.

He is admitted to practice before the:

Ellen Giffin

Ellen Giffin is the lead legal support person for Reggie C. Giffin P.C. She is a 1984 graduate of the University of Tennessee where she majored in economics and information technology. She then worked as an economist for the United States Department of Labor for two years. She returned to graduate school and received an MBA degree from Vanderbilt's Owen School of Business. She worked for the Big Six accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick where she designed financial models to analyze the financial effects of potential mergers. She joined Reggie C. Giffin PC in 2002 and does financial loss analysis of security accounts. She was formerly employed by a regional broker-dealer firm as an intern where she took and passed the Series 7 examination for a General Securities License

College: Vanderbilt University, M.B.A., Finance

Biography: Former Licensed NASD General Securities Representative.

FEES

Mr. Giffin will work closely with you to use the fee arrangement that is best for you or your company. He will take cases for investors who have lost money, employees who have been denied their rights and other plaintiffs, including businesses, on a contingent fee basis. This means that you are charged a fee only if we are successful. The contingent fees range from 33 1/3 % to 40% of the net recovery (total recovery minus expenses) depending on the complexity of the case, the likelihood of recovery and the amount involved. You will be responsible for expenses such as arbitration filing fees, copying, postage, deposition costs and expert witness fees if an expert is used. If you prefer he will take you case on an hourly fee basis or a hybrid basis where a lower hourly fee is used in combination with a lower contingency % if a recovery is made.
